You are not obliged to obey your parents in leaving voluntary fasts when there is no hardship on you and fasting won’t hinder you from serving them properly.

QUESTION: Can I disobey my mother and fast on Mondays, Thursdays, and the 13th, 14th, and 15th of the month? I’ve often fast, but due to long bus travels and extreme weather in India, my mother worries and only permits fasting on weekends. Will I still receive the same reward for obeying my mother and not fasting? Can I still enter from ar-Rayyan?
