ANSWER:

The mother in law has no such rights over her daughter in law. 

She should ignore her demands and be diplomatic and not argue with her but serve her husband and children as this is her obligation in Islam and not to obey her mother in law!

QUESTION: Can a mother-in-law prevent her daughter-in-law from sleeping in the morning on weekends after offering Fajr solely because it is the household’s practice not to sleep in the morning? Also can she scold daughter in law for not doing things according to her rules. PS: The husband does not have any issue with his wife sleeping, only the mother in law gets angry over this.

QUESTION: I have a sister in law she has only been married to my brother for hectic 2.5 years and in those years she has made my mum suffer by making my brother constantly get angry at my mum.
