QUESTION: “A” was a Hindu (woman) with a kid “R” (female) from her previous marriage before she accepted islam and married “S” a Muslim (man). After the marriage “R” has become the stepdaughter of “S” . So is “R” mahram to “S” ? What’s the ruling on “R” taking “S’s” surname? And will “R” be a mahram to her other siblings (from the new marriage) and also to “S’s” brothers?
