ANSWER:

There’s no difference, none whatsoever between the prayers of men and women. Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam said, “Pray as you have seen me praying”. This instruction is not just for men, rather it’s for both men and women.

The way some women in the subcontinent pray by placing the whole arm on the ground while prostrating is forbidden and totally wrong as Prophet salla Allahu Alaihi wa Sallam forbade this and said you should not prostrate like how a dog sits.

QUESTION: A relative told me that I pray incorrectly because during sujood my backside rises like a man’s, and said it does not look appropriate in front of men. I wear loose, covering clothes. Is a woman required to perform sujood differently from a man, and is my way of praying wrong?
