If you did not recite the fatiha, it is not valid. But if you had managed to complete it and then followed him, it is valid.

QUESTION: Sheikh, when I attended the janazah prayer for my grandmother rahimahallah the imam said the second takbir before I could even finish reciting the first ayahs. (I am not a slow reciter) After that, however, I was able to follow everything. Is my janazah prayer valid? What should I do now?
