ANSWER:

If your fasting doesn’t hinder you from taking care of them then you’re not obliged to obey them in this regard. 

QUESTION: If my parents ask me not to do something that is voluntary — like voluntary fasts — am I still allowed to do that or do I obey my parents?

QUESTION: My mother is mentally, physically and emotionally ill, her life is really bad. She’s depressed because of the stress in her life. She’s also very angry when I try to practice Islam.
