ANSWER:

No.

It’s not mandatory for the person who is reciting it to offer it but it is a highly recommended sunnah. If he offers it, it is sunnah for those listening to him to offer it as well but it is not mandatory.

QUESTION: Some say that you should recite the verse of sujood at tilawah silently because if others hears the verse, they should also do prostration. Is this true?
