QUESTION: In my culture, the people on Eid day greet each other with a hug three times and they do not really do this outside of Eid day (occasionally they may). Someone told me that because the people single out Eid day to do this hug, it becomes a bid’ah (innovation) and we should not do it. I want to know if this is bid’ah and whether or not I should stop people from giving me this triple hug on Eid.
