ANSWER:

This is not riba as you are paying for it in cash and not in the same kind. 

Buying dates online while paying for it with dates, this is riba. 

Buying it online while paying for it in cash, this is totally permissible

QUESTION: What is the ruling on selling salt, wheat, barley and dates online? This is when the money and goods arent exchanged hand to hand and the delivery takes a few days. Is it riba? I know its haram to trade gold and silver online but does this ruling also apply to food commodities with long shelf life? Such as rice, wheat, spices, dates, salt, barley etc.
