Exaggerated expenses over pets when Muslims are dying and starving is extravagance and illogical 

QUESTION: We have pet cats and the expenses (vaccinations & other medications, then food & liiyer sand) they have are very costly. I want to know if the money spent on pets will count as extravagance or will it be considered as SADAQAH?
