ANSWER:

If the invitation says it’s regarding birthday then you must not go.

The invitation that must not be rejected is that of walima, providing you have no excuse to reject (it must be a halal function with no music, no free mixing between non mahrams etc)

QUESTION: Someone sent me a birthday card (Online) to invite us. And when I I said that we don’t celebrate birthdays so we can’t come that person said we are actually not celebrating any birthday. It’s just a dinner. There won’t be a cake as well. Also, the actual birth date is 10 days before the day of celebration/dinner. What should we do? Are we allowed to go as we shouldn’t deny any invitation?
