ANSWER:

Its not permissible to pay the zakat on instalments! You must pay it on the due date (hijri Islamic calendar), can take a couple of days extra but CANNOT delay it much further!

Sell some of your gold to pay the zakat on time if you don’t have the cash

QUESTION: Sheikh if calculate the zakat on my gold on say Nov 1st but I don’t have the money to pay off all my zakat all at once and I would need to pay it off in installments, do I hold to that one calculation from Nov 1st until I pay it all off or do I recalculate with the gold price for Dec 1st when I’m paying off the next installment?
