You should have said SubhanAllah to alert the imam of his mistake and if he did not stand up to correct it, you should continue with your third on your own without suhood assahu.

QUESTION: Last night I prayed Maghrib in a masjid. The imam prayed 2 rakah, and afterwards he said salam, unknowingly that he prayed only 2 rakah. Everyone said salam with him, but I stood for my third rakah and concluded with salam without sujood of forgetfulness. Was that correct?
