It’s not mandatory but highly recommended in all your prayers.

QUESTION: Sheikh I use a pocket mat to pray in masjids because many times it has been happened with me when I prostate I smell very bad odour from that masjid mats of feet smell or socks or something. Also if I pray in second row people’s wet feet leave stamps on the mat. Is it permissible?
