ANSWER:

No problem in asking Allah while giving your zakat money. However, it would be more effective if you were to give charity that is not mandatory upon you to give. 

QUESTION: If I give charity to poor muslims for the purpose of asking Allah to heal my wife’s illness, can I pay that charity from my zakat money, or must that be sadaqa in addition to my zakat because I am asking for help.
