ANSWER:

The prayer of the people is valid even if he prays without wudhu!

He is sinful though for what he is doing and such a person must not assume the role of an imam as he is more likely a hypocrite

QUESTION: If an Imam consumed intoxicants, and is still within the (40) days of his prayers not being accepted, but still continues to do so without the knowledge of the people praying behindhim, will the prayer of the people be accepted? is he sinful as he doesn’t want to expose what he did? and is it better for the people, upon knowing this information to pray individually rather than in congregation?
