ANSWER:

Whatever they have in their possession must be given to the poor and needy as a form of cleansing. What they have used and consumed is already gone and they can’t do anything about that. 

QUESTION: I have a friend who works for a bank in Canada. They are aware their money is haram. They are currently studying with the intention of finding a halal career while still working at the bank. Unfortunately, they are unable to quit as they are the sole provider for their family. The question is: how should they go about cleansing their haram money once they are able to quit.
