ANSWER:

This so called scholar is wrong as he is going against the instructions of the prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam.

We fast it since Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam had said that if he lived another year, he would fast on the 9th! We believe that the prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam knows more that this so called scholar! 

QUESTION: A scholar said that there’s no need to fast on the 9th or 11th of muharram because nowadays no jew fasts on Ashurah, so there’s no need to be diffrent from them, he further said that fast only on the 10th of muharram. How correct this opinion is please clarify?
