QUESTION: It was time to break fast and I was preparing my water and without thinking started drinking before making my intention to break my fast. I swallowed once before realizing and spit out the remaining water. I verbalized my intention and drank water. Is my fasting from the day still valid?

ANSWER: There’s no Verbal intention before breaking the fast as this is an innovation Once the sun sets and the athan is called, you simply break the fast by saying bismillah

QUESTION: A person lives in non Muslim country and no Muslim authority, and rely on apps for timing. They used Turkish calculation but changed to UmmAlQura few weeks ago. Today they woke up very thirsty 1 min after Fajr entered, so they changed calculation to Turkish and it showed that it’s 2 min until Farj so they drank water. Are they playing with religion?

ANSWER: If the masjid buys and gives food items to poor Muslims with that money then no problem. But if they only hand them cash, this is not valid.

QUESTION: If it rains or will making wudu some water goes on my lips and I put them in my mouth to remove them does this count as drinking and does it break my fast?

ANSWER: If you intentionally swallow such rain water or any type of water like this, this breaks your fast.

QUESTION: If i stole a drink or food while im in the time of fasting and then had it for iftar would this break my fast? If it does would i have to fast the days i did robbed even if i didnt know this.

QUESTION: A couple trying to conceive, decided to skip the fast one day for Intercourse during the day in Ramadan as husband had to travel to join duty in KSA. They intended to make up the fast. QUESTION: My brother is an independent/financially independent adult but does not fast or pray. Is it acceptable for my mother to pay zakat al fitr on his behalf without him knowing?

ANSWER: Their fast is not valid as they must observe the fast with the majority of Muslims where they live.

QUESTION: I have neighbors with children who aren’t doing well financially. They have an apartment and money for food, but the one salary barely covers her expenses. Sometimes they can cover everything, and sometimes they have to go into the red (e.g. little food). Can I give them Zakat al Fitr, or does it have to be given to someone who is much worse off?

ANSWER: As long as the salary doesn’t cover the whole month, it is permissible to give them zakatul fitr

QUESTION: Can a fasting person doing fard ghusl wash ears eventhough water can enter ear hole and also is it necessary to clear all dirt and ear waxes during fasting time( I usually clean it with wet clothe)

ANSWER: The ears are not a normal passage of water to the stomach and one can swim and bathe without a problem.
