The place where my aunt stays azan cant be heard can she set time according to the azan of that place on phone through any app and break her fast through that phone azan?

Is it allowed to watch comedy(just simple comedy,no adult comedy) and does it invalidiate our fast?

ANSWER: This does not invalidate your fast, however it is not permissible to watch this whether while fasting or otherwise as it contains many haram things such as lying, making fun of others and music.

Is it permissable to use cell phone for some sort of emtertainment while you are fasting?

ANSWER: What kind of entertainment? If you mean music, movies etc, this is not permissible whether during fasting or while not fasting.

Can I combine the intention of making up my previous ramdan missed fast with that of Shawwal or Ashura or fasting on 9 days of dhul hijja or 13,14,15 of each Islamic month,or Monday & Thursday of each week.By expecting to get the reward of both how should I make my intention.

ANSWER: It’s not permissible to combine the intention of missed days of Ramadan with the 6 days of Shawwal. Other than this you can have the double intention of fasting with everything else you mentioned.

My board exams are being taken and my parents forbid me to fast strictly saying it’s obligatory for me to obey parents in Islam. Should I listen to them and make up the fasts later?

ANSWER: No, you must not obey them in this regard as obeying Allah takes precedence over anyone else. Diplomatically and with respect but firmly tell them you will have to fast as it’s mandatory and exams are not a valid reason to skip fasting. You must fast.

Does vomit break your fast?

ANSWER: If you deliberately vomit, your fast is invalid. But if it was unintentional and not by choice, your fast is valid.

As Ramadan is not only about staying away from food but also staying away from uttering bad words. But what if people silently keep bad thoughts towards certain situations or people? Will their fasting be accepted?

ANSWER: This does not have any impact on fasting as they didn’t act upon it nor talked about it, however they should keep their hearts clean against others.

In this month of Ramadan, the youth have many questions regarding fasting. Many ask if texting or chatting with friends of the opposite sex will ruin your fasting? If so, will it break the fast or decrease it’s reward significantly?

ANSWER: Chatting and texting the opposite gender is sinful and it reduces the reward of fasting. It defies the purpose of fasting as the Prophet salla Allahu Alaihi wa Sallam had said: whoever doesn’t abandon falsehood, acting upon it and ignorance, Allah has no need for him to leave food and drink!

I saw a post from Khalid Yasin’s page saying there is no any prove in the Qur’an or Hadith referring to the month of Ramadan as a holy month. is that correct plz?

ANSWER: The word “holy” is not Islamic nor related to Ramadan. It is a “blessed” month but it is not one of the sacred 4 months.

Can we brush our teeth using toothpaste while fasting?
