Of course she must pay the zakat of past 10 years as she’s the owner of that gold & its her responsibility and not anyone else’s. 

QUESTION: A woman’s father In law was paying her Gold zakat for last 15yrs but recently she came to know that he had stopped paying her Gold zakat 10yrs back and he didn’t inform her so now after knowing should the woman pay zakat of all the past 10yrs or only should she pay from this year only as she was unaware of this?

QUESTION: I had $30,000 in Jan 2025. In Jan 2026, I have $1000 on hand. I used $20,000 to buy silver and gold bars as investment and 10,000 dollars I gave as a loan. I also own two gold necklaces weighing 8gms all, for personal use. I did earn more throughout the year but I spent that for my basic needs, food, clothing and shelter.
