ANSWER:

If you have cash that would mount to the thresh hold of gold when added to the gold you have, you should give zakat. 

But if it doesn’t reach the threshold of gold but the cash is above the threshold of silver, you must give zakat only on the cash and not the gold. 

QUESTION: My gold doesn’t exceed the threshold amount of zakat. If I mix them with cash then the amount exceeds the zakat threshold of silver. Can I give zakat based on this calculation? or should I calculate based on only cash?
