Sheikh, I live in India and many times people here apply henna on the hands of groom during marriage. I see this as men imitating women but what is the correct view on this matter.

ANSWER: If there is yellow gold in it, this is totally prohibited for men to wear. Therefore, we must look into what is called white gold whether it is a different metal or the same yellow gold which has changed it’s color to be white.

Is the navel and the knee included in the awarah for men and can men wear football shorts in front of other men where his thighs are exposed?

ANSWER: The most authentic opinion is that the navel and knees are not part of the awrah, rather the area between the navel and the kness is awrah for a man. Thighs are part of the awrah and he cannot expose this in front of anyone except his wife.

ANSWER: For men, this is not permissible to wear in front of others as the awrah would be exposed. As for both men and women, they can wear these ONLY in front of their spouses.

In our locality there is a custom that after giving birth, the relatives and friends of the parents give gold may be in the form of chains or bangles on the 40th days after birth for both gender of babies. So is it permitted to wear those gold for baby boy during his child hood?
