ANSWER:

This is not from the Sunnah.

This is the authentic dua:

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ

“I depart with Allah’s name, relying on Him. There is no might or power except in Allah.” (Tirmidhi)

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أَضِلَّ أَوْ أُضَّلَّ أَوْ أَظْلِمَ أَوْ أُظْلَمَ أَوْ أَجْهَلَ أَوْ يُجْهَلَ عَلَىَّ

“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from misleading or being misled or oppressing or being oppressed or from being ignorant or bearing the result of ignorance”.

 

When I leave the house my mother reads Ayat ul Kursi and blows it on me for protection. Is this part of the Sunnah or is there some other dua in the Sunnah that would be correct ?
