The Sunnah is to prepare the corps as soon as possible. Delaying him for a whole day is too long and shouldn’t be done unless there is a legitimate reason, such as one of his sons is flying over and would need half a day or a day to reach there and there is no worries that the body would change.

We know that it is highly desirable to hasten the burial. I also read that Allah will forgive the sins of the dead if more person pray salat at janaza.so how long can we delay the burial for more person to come?can we delay it for 1 day?
