What they said is baseless. 

However you should not recite the Qur’an loudly as this would disturb others who are praying or doing dhikr, dua etc. 

Some people in Masjid stopped me from reading Quran while someone is praying in front of me saying that their backs are towards Quran like its against the etiquettes of reading Quran. What is the correct opinion about this?

One said to me that laying legs to quran is not a good thing, so you should not do it. Is he is doing bida’ah right?, And if i tells him that he is doing bidah, how will i answer to him if he tells me that he is not doing innovation and says that this Ayah is what is his daleel” wa man yua’azzam sha’aaaaairAllaaahi fa innaha min taqwal qoloob” ?.
