ANSWER:

Yes, it is not permissible to hang Allah’s Names or Quranic ayahs on the walls as it’s disrespecting Allah’s words and they were not revealed for decorative purposes. It’s not permissible to hang them even in haramain or any other Masjids. 

Shaikh the scholars have said it is not permitted to hang quranic verses as decoration as it is not the purpose and it is bidah. But some people argue that the kaaba is decorated with Quran verses and so are many mosques. What is the correct understanding?
