You can begin any day and it has to be a lunar month. If you intended it to be consecutive, it must be consecutive.

Salam ,I made a oath and said if I break it I would have to fast for a month ,I broke the oath , my question is do I have to fast from the beginning of the month for example 1st of January to the end of the month 31st of January or can I start any day during the month for example the 7th of January and just fast for 31 days consecutively , also does the fasting for 1 month have to be consecutive ?
