ANSWER:

It is not permissible to celebrate one’s birthday as this is imitating the disbelievers whether by putting candles or not. If someone offers you birthday cake, there is no problem in eating it providing you did not partake in their celebration. 

 

Please correct me if I’m wrong. I believe there is nothing wrong with eating a birthday cake. (Providing it is halal) Q) What is the ruling on putting “candles” on top of cakes? Is it imitating the kufar/fire worshippers? Sometimes people do this and they blow the candles to celebrate their own birthday.
