This is absolutely baseless and what she is doing is an innovation. 

My sister follows the hanafi madhab and she insists on wearing hijab 24-7 including at home, because she says angels are shy of hair and they will not want to be around you if your hair is uncovered. Is there any basis for this in the quran and sunnah?
