You shouldn’t approach him as long as he is not intending to do it firmly! Get yourself out of this idea and don’t involve yourself in something you will regret later! If he goes and marries on his own, be patient and don’t object but don’t push him to do so!

my husband and I have been married for a few years الحمداللهand he was interest in taking a second wife in the past but I did not like that idea when we first married. Now I want him to have a second wife because I know he is religious and I am being selfish to keep a good man to myself but he will now not believe me if I tell him. How can I convince him I am happy if he takes another wife?

Does a second wife have any mandated duties towards the first wife of her husband? Some friends of my husband are saying that as a second wife I have a duty to call the first one to say hello and pay respects because i “found” her in the marriage, and that i am mandated to know and have a relationship with her.
