This type of online competing done in chat groups is not recommended as it includes a lot of showing off and sometimes lying as well. 

Is it permissible to participate in an online based Quran completing competition? Where the participants update how much they’ve read everyday. And everyone who read the whole Quran will get a prize. And the first three will get special prizes.But I think participating in such a competition may harm my intetion of reading the Quran only for Allah. But my friends say my thoughts are from shaitan.
