This is not permissible as it doesn’t understand what you say and saying salam has to be addressed to those who can comprehend, and Allah knows best.

Is it permissible for me to say salam to my cat whenevr i see her sicne she is infact a muslim by default. i know it might sound stupid, but i love my cat and adore her
