No problem, if he gets a regular salary, i.e. from the government and
it’s like a regular paid job. His intention is what counts! Is he
doing it for the money or for the sake of Allah and the money comes
afterwards!

Is it permissible for anyone to work as an imam of a mosque with the intention of earning money, providing that he has to repay some debts?
