ANSWER:

No problem in killing harmful pests and insects. 

The hadith that you mentioned is not authentic. 

Is it allowed to kill pests in the house which may harm us? If yes then Are there any specific pests which we are not allowed to kill? Some people say we should not kill spiders… some say we should not kill bed bugs as these insects helped prophet SAW when he was hiding from Quraysh. How authentic is this? Can you pls give hadith references for me to read
