In loud Rakah, you may recite only the Fatiha but it is not mandatory.

In silent Rakah, you must recite the Fatiha and if there is time, you can recite something else from the Quran.

In the first two rakaat are we supposed to recite surah Fatiha in our minds with the imam or just listen and follow? And for the third and fourth, when the imam is silent, should we recite surah Fatiha followed by another surah?

Reference:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 458 Aishah narrated: “The night prayer of Allah’s Messenger was thirteen Rak’ah, five of which were his Witr, not sitting in any of them except at the end of them. When the Mu’adh-dhin called the Adhan he would stand to perform two light (Rak’ah).” Does this Hadith mean we don’t sit down until last Rakah of witr ?
