16 Rabi al-Awwal 1441

I would like to ask if is it okay to freeze my eggs and do in vitro fertilizatiom since I habe no husband and I want to have kids of my own. Currently, I am unable to marry because my parents require big dowry from the man, which I fervently oppose to, but I can’t voice it out strongly. Is it okay as a last resort? Thank you.

ANSWER:

This is absolutely prohibited.

IVF is only permissible when the eggs and the womb are of the wife and the sperm is of her husband and its not permissible to get pregnant when you’re not married!!

If you are parents are delaying your marriage for such a reason, you can go to the muslim court or the authorized Islamic center and complain to them and they will appoint someone else to be your guardian like your grandfather or elder brother. You shouldn’t wait like this for your father’s approval as he is unfit to be your guardian when he is blinded by money like this.
