If you are not a student of knowledge, you shouldn’t read it as you may not be able to distinguish what is right from what is wrong.

I was given an English translation of the Qur’an and it also has Surah introductions from M. Mawdudi’s commentary “Towards Understanding the Qur’an”. I don’t know much about this person, but I have heard warnings about him. Is it not a good idea to read his commentary?
