Yes.

Only if you asked him for it and he refuses to give it back or apologizes for being unable to give it back, only in this case you don’t have to pay zakat until he returns it to you.

I lent some money to my brother. Its been more than a year and I am not sure when he will return it. do I have to pay zakat on it
