23 Dhul-Hijjah 1440

I have had a issue of ‘blocked ears’ for years. If i get water inside the ear it can be difficult to get out and can cause a little discomfort in the ear canal. As Muslims, when we make Wudu and Ghusal for that matter, does one have to put in the ear canal?

ANSWER:

It is not required to put water in the ears while making ghusl. You just pour water over the eras, wipe the inside with your index finger as usual and this is sufficient.

As for wudu, you don’t wash your ears in wudu, rather you just wipe (by wetting the hands) with your index finger inside the ear and with the thumb outside the ear.
