ANSWER:

Your wife’s gold belongs to her. She is obliged to pay it once her zakat is due providing it reaches the nisab.

If you want to unite both zakat date and pay one earlier than the other, this is permissible but you need your wife’s prior authorization to you for that.

I have cash that has reached nisaab level and zakaat will soon be due on it. In addition to this, my wife has gold jewellery. Should the monetary amount of this jewellery be added to the cash I have before I calculate the total zakaat due?
