It is not advisable, since i’tikaaf is the term used for one secluding himself/herself with Allah alone without involving in worldly affairs. If there is a legitimate reason, this can be accepted.

I have a wife and a 5 year old son. In sha Allah, I’m planning to sit in I’tikaf during the last ten days of Ramadan. Can my wife and my son or my parents or my other family members come to the masjid to meet me everyday during I’tikaf?
