ANSWER:

You should stop praying after you see the flow of blood. Such spotting and colored discharge in the beginning do not affect your purity. 

For past few months I have been seeing brown/red spotting and then no signs of periods for the whole day. Full flow periods start after a day or so. Shall I continue praying after seeing the spot until I get proper menses or should I stop praying?
