QUESTION: When I got married to my husband I did not love him. I committed adultery. I cheated on him. But now it’s been a year we are married. I really love him. I didn’t know he is such a good man and I didn’t realise I am wrong at that moment.I’m changed now. I repented. I cried. Should I tell him the truth? I’m totally changed now. I pray 5 times. I cover myself. I wear hijab. I left all haram things.

ANSWER: It’s not permissible at all to tell him or anyone about your previous sins! If you tell him, Allah will not forgive you such sins and most likely he will divorce you on the spot.

QUESTION: If a girl is forced into a marriage by her family against her will, will the marriage still stand ? What does islam say about this ?

ANSWER: If she agrees to get married, the marriage is valid. If she fights it and resists his attempts to approach her, the marriage is invalid.

QUESTION: I have a sister in law she has only been married to my brother for hectic 2.5 years and in those years she has made my mum suffer by making my brother constantly get angry at my mum. He will get his own home but he never wanted to leave home and made that clear when he got married but now has to due to his wife behaviour. please advise.

ANSWER: He should have moved out right after he got married because Allah has given the right to women to ask their husbands for a separate accommodation after they get married. Better late than never! Let them live their lives without any intervention from the in laws.

QUESTION: Sheikh, Is it mandatory to get married ? Is it okay that I sacrifice sex and pray to God to help me to perform celibacy ? I think my sole responsibility is towards my parents not the women who I get to know and marry within days.

ANSWER: If there is no one to take care of them and if they’re not self sufficient and the would be husband wouldn’t agree her to take care of them after marriage then yes, she must give priority to looking after them.

QUESTION: Sheikh In Islam is it permissible to marry (nikah) the same person twice without getting divorced? My brother is in US he got married with a girl there and now they want to get married again in India in front of their family?

ANSWER: If it’s only a function and a party they want to throw then no problem in this as long as it’s a segregated event without music or anything haram. It is not permissible to make the marriage contract twice.

QUESTION: I was wondering if we could rely upon scholar ibn Taymiyyah’s statement that it’s the fathers’s choice to name his children if he and his wife are in dispute as he didn’t mention the evidence to this from either Qur’an or Hadith? And in general can we rely upon scholar’s statements even if they don’t mention the evidence to their claims?

ANSWER: The statement is 100% true. It is the sole right of the father to name his children as they would be carrying his name.

QUESTION: I know that a wife is supposed to obey her husband in Islam. But if a husband doesn’t allow his wife to meet her parents even if they’re in critical condition and may die if they don’t get help, should the wife still obey him? Will she be sinful for still going to her parents to help them? If yes, then plz explain why.

ANSWER: If there is no one to help them for real, this becomes an obligation upon their daughter and she must do that even if her husband divorces her. She should be diplomatic with him and try to convince him peacefully.

QUESTION: Can a girl who is a practicing Muslim marry a guy who goes to Dargah but he doesn’t mind her being a practicing Muslim?
