This hadeeth was authenticated by some scholars and it means that when a knowledgeable person interprets a dream correctly, it would take place. Scholars say that if he doesn’t interpret it correctly, it will not take place.

There was an incident when Abu Bakr may Allah be pleased with him interpreted a dream in the presence of the Prophet salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam and the Prophet said to him: you were right in some and wrong in others. This means that what he was right in will happen but what he wasn’t right in will not happen.

Having said that, it is true that you should only tell a scholar or a person who loves you about your good dreams.

Can you tell me if this hadith is authentic: Prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم said, “A dream is hanging on the leg of a bird (and in another narration on the wing of the bird) as soon as it is interpreted, it happens as it was interpreted.”
