ANSWER:

You can pray to Allah for their guidance and health in this world. You must not ask Allah for their forgiveness or to have mercy on them until they accept Islam. 

However, you must not be intimate friends with them where you hang out or spend quality time together, you can just be acquaintances or colleagues etc. 

Can you pray or make dua for well being of non muslims if they are your friends and good people.

Greeting” means to congratulate on the birth of prophet Isa A.S. As Christmas means birth of Prophet Isa A.S (Reference: google) (Also my Christian friends agree to this fact). Muslims do congratulate their Muslim fellows on the birth of Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Then why is it not permissible for a Muslim to say “Merry Christmas”? I can’t understand this hypocritical behaviour.
