I know that wives have the right to have a separate house from her parents-in-law with at least a kitchen and bathroom .But when the parents-in-law grow old and lonely and cherish companionship ,how will the son give them these?Or is he not obliged to give them companionship and it is enough to bring them a servant ?

ANSWER:

Giving his wife a separate accommodation does not free him of the responsibilities of taking care of his parents. He must still visit them, call them and check up on them often. The best scenario is to live very close to them or even in the same building.
